Leeton footpaths on the right track
Leeton Shire Council is pleased to announce the completion of three new footpaths within the Shire.
The footpaths were funded through the Federal Government Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Program Project.
Council’s Design and Construction team have recently completed the footpath constructions at Naradhun St and Melbergen St, Whitton and Boree St, Leeton. The total cost of these projects was $102,000 and was 100% funded by Federal Government.
“The Federal funding for these projects has allowed us to provide additional facilities to the local communities,” said Jamie Condie, Director of Engineering and Technical Services. “Both of these projects assist with the safety and convenience of school children around primary schools and fit into Council’s long term pedestrian access plans for these townships.”
“The Federal Government Funding Program has enabled Council to construct these facilities in addition to those already planned this year under Council’s Management Plan. Council will continue to look at alternative sources of revenue to enable important infrastructure developments within the Shire.”
Leeton Shire Council is currently considering more projects for submission under the second round of funding of the Federal Government Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Program Project.
